Martha Faye "Marti" (Springs) Ayers

Martha Faye "Marti" (Springs) Ayers
November 11, 1950 ~ February 5, 2025

Martha (Marti) Faye Ayers departed this world on February 5th, 2025. She was a loving mother, attentive nana, caring sister, and loyal friend who will be missed dearly.

She was born to Melvin and Jaunethia Springs on November 11, 1950. After graduating from Norman High School Marti moved to Guam for several years where she enjoyed scuba diving, swimming in the ocean as often as possible and working on the Air Force base for Jim Morrison’s dad (this was one of her favorite stories to tell as she was a huge fan of The Doors.) She eventually gave up beach life and moved back to Oklahoma to start a family.

After having her beloved children Marti returned to college and earned her paralegal certificate and went on to work for Southwestern Power Administration for 31 years before retiring in 2018.

Marti was an avid reader (one of her favorite things to do was spend hours in bed with a cup of coffee and her latest book) and one of her greatest joys was spending time with her beloved granddaughter, family, and many friends. Marti was also a proud member of the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma.

Marti was preceded in death by her parents, Melvin and Jaunethia Springs; her eldest son, Kevin Ayers; and her brother, Danny Springs. She is survived by her children, Ryan Ayers of Bristow, Oklahoma and Dana Ayers of New York City; granddaughter, Abigail Ayers of Skiatook, Oklahoma; brother, Doyle Springs, of Purcell, Oklahoma. She is also survived by Skully and Sassy, her adored dog and cat.

In lieu of flowers we ask everyone who loved our mom to perform a random act of kindness as she often did for others.

A celebration of life will be held on March 1, 2025, at 116 W 8th Street, Bristow, OK from 1-4pm. Please stop by and join us in celebrating a beautiful and joyful spirit who left the world much too soon.

“A heart is not judged by how much you love, but by how much you are loved by others.” L. Frank Baum
