Jerry Jeffery Avey, age 36 of Cashion, Oklahoma was born on June 8, 1983 in Oklahoma City to Randall and Jayelene (Avey) Garton Sr. He passed away on March 10, 2020 in Cashion.

Jerry graduated from Cashion High School in 2002. He was a former corrections officer for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and most recently a field technician in the oilfield. He was a member of the Cashion Christian Church. In Jerry’s spare time he loved spending time with his daughter HayLee, fishing and spending time outdoors, and being a prankster.

Jerry is survived by his mother Jayelene Avey Garton of Cashion, daughter HayLee Avey of Norman, the mother of his child Ashley Stone, brother Randall K. Garton, Jr. and wife Beth of Shawnee, brother Christopher “Chris” Allen of Tulsa, sister Rexanna Hornbeck and husband Ken of Meeker, sister Chrissy Garton of Shawnee, sister Becky Cox and husband Brent of Choctaw, and sister Melissa graves and husband Jim of Tulsa. Jerry was preceded in death by his father Randall Garton Sr in 2009, sister Melody Jones, and his grandparents.

Memorial services will be held on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 1:00 P.M. at the Cashion Christian Church with Minister Mark Westman officiating. Services are under the direction of Hayes Funeral Home.
