Leonard Clifford Avery

April 28, 1921 ~ August 8, 2009

Leonard Clifford Avery, 88 of Oklahoma City, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 8, 2009. He was born to Isabel A. and Evanna A. (Sliger) Avery on April 28, 1921 in Wayne, OK.

He was a WWII Army veteran being in the 338th FA Bn serving in Italy.

He loved to travel, read historical books and genealogy. He was a retired civil servant at Tinker AFB doing instrument calibration. He came to Oklahoma City in 1950 previously living in Wayne, OK. He was a member of the Del City Church of Christ.

 Leonard married Janie on November 11, 1950 in Oklahoma City.

Leonard is survived by his wife Janie, son Lynn, 2 grandsons Carson Lane Avery and Kyle Russell Avery, and a few nieces and Nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, and a sister.
