Richard Elliot Austin

Birth : 16 Apr 1833
Butler Co, KY
Death: 26 Aug, 1895
Marlow, Stephens, OK

Richard E. Austin, and wife A. Janet, drove an ox team from Maryland to Kentucky and settled at Hartford, Ohio County in a stockade built as fortification against Indians.

There were seven boys and the 6th, Samuel, migrated to Butler County while young and settled on the Green River.

He was Butler County's first judge.

He saw the British burn our Capitol at Washington DC.

He was 84 years of age and had only lost one tooth.
