Katherine Dorene (Winter) Austin
June 4, 1964 ~ February 8, 2023 58 Years Old

Katherine Dorene Austin, age 58, of Seminole, OK, passed away Wednesday, February 8, 2023 in Seminole.

She was born June 4, 1964 in San Diego, CA to James and Carmen Jean (Switch) Winter.

Katherine and her family moved between California, Shawnee and Tecumseh. She graduated from Tecumseh High School in 1982.

Katherine proudly served in the US Navy, being stationed in Seattle, California, then Jacksonville, Florida. She moved back to Shawnee in 2014.

While in Florida she managed a retail clothing store. After moving back to Shawnee, Katherine worked at The Kwik Stop.

She was a proud member of the Absentee Shawnee Tribe.

In her spare time Katherine liked to bowl and loved spending time with her dogs.

She was preceded in death by her parents; and sister, Pilarr Cunningham.

Katherine is survived by her siblings and their spouses, Victor and Liz Cope of Tecumseh, Mike Cope of Tulsa, and Warren and Tammy Winter of Shawnee; several nieces and nephews; and many other family and friends.

A memorial service will be 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 13, 2023 at Cooper Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Victor Cope of First Indian Baptist Church in Moore, OK officiating under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home.
