Doug Atkins
Sep 29, 1962 - May 28, 2016

Doug Atkins was born September 29, 1962 in Phoenix, Arizona. He passed away May 28, 2016 at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma at the age of 53 years, 7 months and 29 days.

Doug moved to Sayre as young boy. He graduated from Sayre High School in 1981 and began working in the oilfield as a Roughneck and later worked as Truck Driver until his health began to fail. In the past few years, he enjoyed life and spent time with his friends. He liked cooking, canning, brewing his own beer and wine, working on cars and hotrods and in his younger years he enjoyed fishing and camping. Doug thoroughly loved listening to heavy metal and rock and roll music.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Helen Atkins.

He is survived by his former wife, Lorie Piercy, Sayre, OK; a son, Robert Piercy, Sayre, OK and his close friends, Keith Minson and Melvin Mercer.

A private service will be held at a later date.
