Greg Ashley, 35, of Perry, passed peacefully from this life on August 18, 2014 at his home with his family surrounding him. Services have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral home and a service celebrating Greg’s life will be held at 2pm on Saturday, Sept 6, 2014 at the First Christian Church in Perry, OK

Greg was born on Dec 17, 1978 to Nancy J. Ashley in Wellington, KS. He grew up and attended schools in the Wellington area, graduating from Wellington High School. Following his schooling, Greg began a career in sales that would support him for the majority of his life. He spent nearly 2 years selling cell phones at the local Walmart. Greg got bored selling phones and thought he’d move on to a more complex product, so he began selling cars. After a few years in auto sales, he decided to challenge himself by obtaining a CNA certification. Greg spent the next 2-3 years working as a CNA at Cedar View Good Samaritan Center in Wellington, KS where he cared for hundreds of residents. Greg returned to auto sales before moving to Perry, OK in 2006 to be near his family. While in Perry, he was employed at the Comfort Inn, as well as a local convenience store and construction company, until his failing health

Greg was an intelligent young man and when he was not working, he enjoyed reading, writing, and spending time on the computer.

Greg Ashley was preceded in death by his grandpa Bob Greeno, Aunt Jackie McCreary, and cousin Heather Scott. He is survived by his two children: Haylie and Zandier Ashley of Ponca City, OK, his mother Nancy Rader of Perry, OK, Grandparents: Ferrell Greeno of Perry, OK and Lyle Ashley of Kimberling City, MO. A brother: Dustin Ashley and wife Michelle, of Olathe, KS. He is also survived by his aunt Jana Tracy, as well as numerous cousins, other family members and friends.

The family has requested that donations be made in Greg’s name to Palmer Marler Funeral Home 203 Fir Street. Perry, OK 73077.
