Viola Elvada (Hastings) Arnold

March 3, 1920 ~ March 21, 2007

Viola Elvada Hastings Arnold, 87 years of age, of Gentry, Arkansas died in her home on March 21, 2007. Vi was born on March 3, 1920 in Jay Oklahoma. She was born to the union of Bessie Mae Meredith Hastings and Elmer Franklin Hastings, both deceased.

She married Roy William Arnold who preceded her in death on December 13, 1980.

Vi has one son, H.E. "Gene" Hastings and wife, Pat, of Gentry, Arkansas. She has four sisters of which three are deceased, and one deceased brother. Her sister Judy Hastings Hartley and husband, Cliff, live in Gallatin, Tennessee. Vi has five grandchildren: Robert Hastings of Cookson, Oklahoma, Bonnie Hastings, Shanahan (deceased) of Lee's Summit, Missouri, Jerri Hastings Berry and husband, Dennis of Kansas, Oklahoma, Travis E. Hastings and wife, Melissa, of Tueson, arizona, Robert Littlefield and wife, Delores, of North Little Rock, Arkansas. She has twelve surviving grandchildren and one great granddaughter. She also has many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Vi lived most of her adult life in Colorado and Texas. She has been a resident of Gentry, AR for the past 15 years. She has been a homemaker all her life. Vi especially enjoyed talking with Pastor Tim Estes of New Life Tabernacle, and the many members of the church who came by to visit. She enjoyed listening to old gospel hymns. Vi's family and friends will miss her.
