Nelle (McArdle) Arnold

The funeral for Nelle Arnold, 97, will be 10 AM Thursday at Sisson Funeral Home, with pastor Michael Riley officiating. Burial will follow in Park Cemetery in Columbus, Kansas.

She was born September 3, 1900, south of Covington to James Madison and Inez Goldie Jenkins McArdle and died Tuesday, June 9, 1998, at Integris Bass Baptist Hospital.

She was city clerk in Baxter Springs, Kansas, for several years and later was city clerk in Houston. She was a member of the First Baptist Church of Covington and a member of Order of the Eastern Star.

She is survived by two brothers, Leon McArdle of Covington, James McArdle of Lorange, Louisiana; and two nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, an infant son, four sisters and one brother.

Memorials can be made to the Tri – County Senior Center in Covington.
