Dorothy Wofford Anglen

April 19, 1905 ~ October 19, 2003

Dorothy was born in Hanson, Oklahoma, in 1905, and passed away on Sunday, October 19, 2003, at 98 years of age, in Bakersfield, CA. She attended Tallaquah State Teachers College in Tallaquah, OK.

Dorothy came to Bakersfield as a bride in 1925. Dorothy was a member of the Olive Drive Church, Bakersfield Womens Club, Eastern Star, Caladovia Chapter, Greater Bakersfield Chamber of Commerce, Women's Div. In 1984 she was the number 2 volunteer sales woman of Chamber of Commerce Memberships in the country, and number 1 in the cities in the 100,000 to 200,000 population category. Two years after the death of her husband, she was employed by the Kern County Sheriff's Department, a position she held for many years and treasured until her death.

She is survived by her daughter, Ahniwake Holder; son-in-law, Col. Glen Holder, U.S.A.F., Ret.; 2 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
