Shelly Jean (Fleig) Ames
September 20, 1956 ~ December 5, 2016

Shelly Jean Ames, daughter of Melvin "Gene" and Joe Ann (Roork) Fleig, was born on September 20, 1956 in Tahlequah, Oklahoma and departed this life on Monday, December 5, 2016 in Watts, Oklahoma at the age of 60 years.

She was a loving and attentive wife, mother, grandmother and friend. Shelly helped Bill support their family as the Eastern District Coordinator for the State of Oklahoma Health Department. She has always been a known and liked presence in Adair County and the Westville area. Shelly loved time spent with her family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all.

Her parents, Gene and Joe Ann, preceded her in death. Shelly is survived by her husband, Bill Ames, of the home near Watts, children: Judy Lopez and husband Turk of Westville, Jonathan Kunkleman and wife Erin of Ft. Benning, Ga., and Joe Kunkleman of Westville, stepson: Bill W. Ames and wife Kieu of Watts, brother: Mark Fleig and wife Maria of Collinsville, grandchildren: Billy H. Ames, Vivian Lopez, Vanessa Lopez, Vincent Lopez and Kendra Wagoner, all of Westville, Chloe Henderson, Colton Kunkleman and Connor Kunkleman of Ft. Benning, Ga., Jaxyn Kunkleman of Siloam Springs, Ark., Destiny Kunkleman of Briggs and Charley Ames of Watts.

Many other relatives and friends also survive Shelly. Memorial services were held Thursday, December 8, 2016 at Impact Church, Westville, with Associate Pastor Kevin Yeager officiating. Roberts & Hart Funeral Home – Westville.
