Jose Alvarado, Sr.
September 15, 1926 ~ February 13, 2016

Jose Alvarado, Sr., 89, of Acatic Jalisco, Mexico, was born on September 15, 1926 in Acatic Jalisco, Mexico, the son of Refugio Alvarado and Leonarda Quezada, and passed away peacefully on February 13, 2016 in Acatic Jalisco, Mexico.

He was raised and educated in Acatic Jalisco, Mexico and married Margarita Bravo in 1944. She passed away on September 19, 2010. In 1946, Jose moved to America and worked on the railroads throughout California, Chicago and Flordia. By 1959, he returned to Acatic, establishing his true passion by opening a grocery store.

He was a farmer, working every day in his corn and bean crops and also raised cattle.

Survivors include seven children, Jose Alvarado of Enid, Alfonso and Francisca of Dixon, California, Ricardo, Martha, Margarita, and Maria Luisa, all of Actic; twenty-six grandchildren; thirty-two great-grandchildren.

In addition to his wife, Jose was preceded in passing by parents.
