Betty Jeanette "B.J." Alsip of Nardin, died October 24, 2012, at her home at the age of 69 years. 

B. J. Alsip was born on October 23, 1943, in Hot Springs, Arkansas, to Clyde T. and Mary Jeanette (Keyes) Parrish. As a young girl she moved with her family to Wichita, Kansas, where she grew up and attended school. Following her education she began working as a waitress in Winfield, Kansas. She married Larry Dean Alsip on August 14, 1970, in Winfield and the settled there until 1973 when they moved to Kay County. She then began working for Southwest Cupid Industries in Blackwell. In 1975 they moved to Newkirk, Oklahoma, where in 1978 she began teaming with her husband as a truck driver. In 2001 they moved to Nardin and the two continued their trucking operation until ill health forced her retirement in 2004. She attended the Nardin Methodist Church and enjoyed gardening and family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. 

She is survived by her husband, Larry Alsip of Nardin; her father, Clyde Parrish of Montgomery, Texas; a daughter, Kathy Logan of Ponca City; five sons, Robert Walton of Tonkawa, Tim Walton of Nardin, Donald Walton of Nardin, Kenny Walton and wife Kathy of Ponca City, and Carl Walton and wife Gladys of Newkirk; a sister, Barbara Nixon of Watseka, Illinois; three brothers, Alan Fickling of Ft. Bragg, North Carolina, Carl Fickling of Antioch, California, and Chris Fickling of Union City, California; thirteen grandchildren; and eight great grandchildren. 

She was preceded in death by her mother; and a sister, Elizabeth Diamond. 

A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, October 27th in the Nardin Methodist Church with the Rev. Don Jones officiating.
