Micaela Rodríguez Almendarez, a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great- great- grandmother and friend, passed away on January 28, 2025, in Bartlesville, Oklahoma. Born on September 29, 1938, in San Luis Potosí, Mexico, she was the eldest of eight children, born to Juan Rodríguez Domínguez and María del Socorro Martínez Tobías.
From a young age, Micaela took on a strong sense of responsibility, stepping in to care for her siblings with deep love and devotion. At 14, she met the love of her life, J. Mercedes Almendarez, a lifelong companion with whom she married on April 30, 1958. Together, they raised 10 beautiful children, creating a home filled with love, laughter, and memories in Bledos.
Micaela’s life was characterized by her unwavering commitment to her family, community, and faith. She was a woman who loved deeply and was loved by all who knew her. Her faith in God was immeasurable, and she was a devoted Catholic throughout her life. Even in her later years, Micaela and her husband continued the tradition of praying the rosary together almost every night.
Throughout her life, Micaela wore many hats. She worked in politics, owned a business, and was a dedicated housekeeper, caregiver, and farmer. No matter the challenges she faced, she always strived to give her children the best life possible, doing everything she could with what she had. She and her husband kept two homes—one in Bledos and another in Oklahoma—where they traveled often to visit their children and grandchildren, always with open arms and a heart full of love.
Micaela had a variety of hobbies that brought her joy, from knitting and baking to reading her Bible. She also enjoyed the occasional trip to the casino, accompanied by anyone willing to join her for a bit of fun.
Her life was a testament to kindness, faith, and family. Micaela's legacy will live on in the hearts of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and all who were touched by her warmth and generosity.

Mercedes Almendarez; her 10 children; Jose, Francisco, Miguel, Rafael, Augusto, Mercedes, Paula, Roberto, Sergio, Fernando; siblings, Matias, Jose, Juan, Elvia, and Marta; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren and great- great grandchildren in the US and Mexico; and many friends and extended family.
