Aug 15, 1936 ~ Feb 6, 2016

Barbara Allsup, 79, resident of Bartlesville, OK, after battling cancer for over two years, passed on peacefully at home at 2:00 a.m on Saturday, February 6, 2016.

She was born Barbara Ann Fincher on August 15, 1936 in Marlow, OK to parents Jady Carl Fincher and Lona Rebecca Hupp Fincher. She graduated valedictorian in 1954 from Central High School in Marlow, OK. In 1955, she married Bill Lowry in Marlow, OK and they had four children, Tim, Nancy, Jeffrey, and David. She served as a minister's wife in churches in Oklahoma, Kansas, Texas, and Georgia. They parted in 1975 and Barbara moved back to Bartlesville where she worked for Phillips Petroleum Company, mostly as an executive assistant in the engineering department.

She was a faithful and active member in the 6th and Dewey Church of Christ, which became Woodland and is now known as Adams Boulevard Church of Christ. She was instrumental in creating and serving a singles ministry at Woodland and while serving in this ministry she met Jerry Allsup whom she later married in 1987. After marrying, Barbara and Jerry lived for a short time in Bartlesville before moving to Washington D.C. and later to Golden, Colorado. Barbara loved spending time at the historical sites in D.C. and the mountain vistas in Colorado. She and Jerry loved traveling by car all across the U.S., visiting relatives and friends and enjoying activities where her grandchildren live.

Barbara is survived by her husband, Jerry Allsup of Bartlesville, OK, her four children, Tim Lowry and wife Rose of Temple, NH, Nancy Coburn and husband Tim of Tulsa, OK, Jeffrey Lowry of Bartlesville, OK, David Lowry of Edmond, OK, Jerry's children Gary Allsup and wife Sherrie of Corpus Christi, TX, and David Allsup and wife Becky of Fort Collins, CO. She is also survived by her sister, Carlene Campbell of Edmond, OK.

Surviving grandchildren are Terez Lowry, Jorden Lowry, Claire Coburn, Kevin Coburn, Stephanie Greenland, Sarah Hefner, Melissa Gillock and husband Richard, Casey Lowry, Amy Allsup, Sam Allsup, and Ben Allsup. Barbara is also survived by six great grandchildren and many beloved nieces and nephews.

A memorial service will be held on Monday, February 15, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at Adams Boulevard Church of Christ, 3700 SE Adams Boulevard, Bartlesville, OK. Arrangements are under the direction of Stumpff Funeral Home and Crematory.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests contributions be made to McAllsup Ministries, 4242 Gulfbreeze # 304, Corpus Christi, TX 78402, a non-profit organization that provides support to the homeless and a ministry that Barbara loved and supported.
