Roberta May (Robison) Allen

Roberta May (Robison) Allen
Jan. 27, 1935 ~ September 1, 2016

After celebrating the "dash" of life, Roberta accepted Jesus' hand September 1, 2016. Her family invites you to the celebration of their guardian angel at 10:31 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 17, 2016, at Lamont Methodist Church. The Rev. Alan Nagel is officiating. Arrangements are by Wilson Funeral Home, Pond Creek.

Roberta was born the middle child to May and Tom Robison on Jan. 27, 1935, in Salt Fork. She attended Salt Fork and Lamont schools. This beautiful woman was not only the queen of her family but also held the honor of Watermelon and Football queen. During her year at Northern Oklahoma College, this Lamont beauty fell in love with a rival Bronco football player Earl Wayne Allen and their fantasy love story began.

Earl's sweetheart took on a lifetime cheerleader career as she followed him through 34 years of football from Earl playing for OSU / Panhandle A&M to his coaching years at Marshall, Medford, Jones and Enid. Along their path of love, their "team" grew with their son, Dirk, and daughter, Sherri.

After the children started school, she began her working career at First National Bank in Medford, the State Capitol in Oklahoma City, Jones Public Schools, Charles Carroll Accounting and finished with years keeping everyone organized as a secretary in the educational system at Enid.

After they retired from the public school system, Earl and Roberta spent seven years being known as "Mom and Pops" at NOC Boehme Dorm. She was a mom to every student she met and was the president of each student's fan club. Her unconditional love, sense of humor, spiritual guidance, and playful nature became the safe haven to thousands of lives touched throughout her lifetime. Their retirement years were blessed with many camping, bus and cruising dream trips. Grandchildren and children recollect the many stories they experienced with them in their escapades at Roaring River and camping.

Grandma Allen sang, played, shared crafts, and adored her grandchildren, making each one believe in themselves. She was the solution to any problem you ever had.

Her legacy leaves her hero, husband, Earl Allen; her son, Dirk and wife, Ann, of Enid; her daughter, Sherri and husband, Ross Whitehead, of Lamont; seven grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; and her brother, Orie Robison of Enid.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Tom and May Robison, and her brothers, Gary and Loren.

In lieu of flowers, you may honor Roberta with a donation to either a memorial scholarship (Roberta Robison Allen Memorial Scholarship) for the many lives that she touched or to Lamont UMC for a project (Congregation in the Clouds) she inspired of videoconferencing shut-ins into worship.
