Mary Arlene (Smith) Allen
October 29, 1941 ~ September 17, 2017 (age 75)

Mary Arlene Allen was born October 29, 1941 in Olivet, Kansas to Betty Lou and Floyd William Smith. She passed away September 17, 2017 at Burns Flat, Oklahoma at the age of 75 years, 10 months and 18 days.

Mary grew up in Melverne, Kansas before moving to Hutchinson, Kansas where she met Jesse Allen. They were married in July of 1962 and traveled the U.S. during Jesse's military career. Mary loved to cook and was the Head Chef at the March Air Force Base Officers Club for 17 years, where she never missed a day of work. She has made her home in Burns Flat since 2002. In addition to cooking, she loved to shop and also enjoyed bowling.

She was preceded in death by her parents, 1 sister, Edna Strickland, and 1 brother, Richard Cortwright, 1 stepson, Daniel Ray Allen.

She is survived by her husband, Jesse, of the home; a daughter, Sharon Allen, Burns Flat, OK; a son, Raymond D. Chaney and wife, Vicki, Cheyenne, WY; 10 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren, 2 brothers, Roy Smith, Oak Harbor, WA, Steven Cortwright, Tracy, CA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

A Private Service will be held at a later date.
