Hobart J. "Jack" Allen

December 9, 1917 ~ July 24, 1985

Memorial services for Hobart J. "Jack" Allen, 67, 2401 Liberty Ln., will be 10:30 AM Saturday in the Central Christian Church Chapel with Dr. Lloyd H. Lambert officiating.

Allen died Wednesday in a local hospital. Cremation followed.

He was born in Butler, Pennsylvania, on December 9, 1917, to Hobart and Inez Heeter Allen. He attended Butler high school and Kiski Preparatory School. He received a business degree from Pennsylvania State University.

On June 24, 1942, he married Joan Grant in Butler, Pennsylvania. They moved to Enid from Springfield, Ohio in 1967.

Allen worked for Koehring SpeedStar AMC International for 27 years. He also worked for Chicago Pneumatic for five years as vice president in charge of export sales at both companies, retiring at the age of 62.

He served as a major in the United States Army in the Pacific Theater of operations.

He was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and the Kiwanis club.

Survivors include his wife; a son, Hobart J. Allen, III, Portland, Oregon; a daughter, Mrs. Larry (Jonie) Ehrman, Enid, and a grandchild.

Memorials in his name may be made to the Garfield County Hospice Association with the funeral home serving as custodian of the fund.
