Albert Lee "Al" Allen

December 3, 1914 ~ December 31, 1997

Victoria, Virginia – The funeral for Albert Lee "Al" Allen, 83, was conducted at 2 PM January 3 in the Victoria United Methodist Church. The Rev. Donald L. Collins and Louie Overton officiating. Burial was in Lakeview Cemetery under the direction of Staples Funeral Home.

He was born December 3, 1914, to Joseph W. and Florence Dunn Allen and died Wednesday, December 31, 1997, in Victoria, Virginia.

He graduated from Drummond high school in 1932, and was a retired conductor for the Norfolk and Western Railroad. He was a member of Brotherhood of Railroad Trainmen, Lunenburg County VFW Post 99564, a veteran of World War I I, serving with the U. S. Navy. He was also a member of the Victoria United Methodist Church where he served on the official board and was Chairman of the Board of Trustees for many years.

Surviving are his wife, Dollie; one daughter, Laura Gee of Kenbridge, Virginia; one son, John of Richmond; one brother, William of Drummond; and three grandchildren.
