Tommy Ray Alexander

Tommy Ray Alexander
October 3, 1935 ~ June 6, 2018

Tommy Alexander passed from this earth on June 6, 2018. Tommy Ray was born October 3, 1935 to Gussie Mamie (Boykin) and Joe Frank Alexander. Tommy grew up in Oakwood Texas and graduated from Woodhouse high school in 1955. He was known in the area for his ability to play basketball and went to college on a basketball scholarship. He joined the United States Army and was stationed in Germany. While in Germany he played basketball for the US Army team.

After returning from the Army he went to work for his older brother on the "pipeline". He was working in the Healdton, OK where he met Mollie Corrine Austin and they were married on October 7, 1960. He and Mollie became the proud parents of twins, Darren and Daimon and established their home in Bossier City Louisiana. Tommy worked and retired from Red Ball Motor Freight Company. They then moved to Oklahoma and established "The Dreamer" bus charter business. Mr. Tommy made many friends and saw many sights as he drove groups all over the United States. After his second retirement he moved to Madill OK. Tommy was a proud grandpa to Talon, Chanse, Chelsea, Abbie and Caden. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, telling fish stories and was a great shade tree mechanic. Tommy liked watching any sport involving a ball and listening to classic country music.

He is survived by Mollie Alexander of the home, sons and daughter in laws Darren and Gena Alexander of Madill, Daimon and Joey Alexander of Ada. Six grandchildren Talon and Kaylen Alexander Smithville Missouri, Chanse Alexander of Oklahoma City OK, Chelsea Alexander, Stillwater OK, Abbie Alexander, Madill OK, Caden Alexander of Ada OK, A brother Charles Kenneth Alexander and sister in law Becky, Bossier City, LA, sisters: Billie Faye Howell, Elm Grove, LA, Betty Joyce Lummus and brother in law Les Lone Oak, TX. Brother and Sister in laws: Eddie Couch, Darrell Lawyer, Dee McGlaughn, Wanda and Jerry Mercer, Alvis Austin, Sybil Austin. 27 nieces and nephews. A host of friends and care takers at Brookside Nursing Center.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Lonnie Joe Alexander, Awbrey Vern Alexander, sister Edith Murine Hudson.

Services held at 2pm Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Madill Church of Christ under the direction of Brown Funeral Home, Madill. Memorials in lieu of flowers can be made to Madill Church of Christ Building Fund. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.brownsfuneralservice.com.
