Hugh James "Yankee" Adkins

Sept. 7, 1939 ~ Nov. 27, 2004

Beloved Brother, Father, Grandfather and Great Grandfather. He was born in Colgate, Oklahoma to Willie Pauline and Earnest Werner Adkins on September 7, 1939. His family moved to Shafter, Ca in 1961 where he worked as a heavy equipment operator until he retired.

He is survived by 4 children, Donna Barnes, LaVonda Bohannan, Brenda Harshman, Vernon Adkins. He was the proud grandfather of 8 grandchildren and one great grandchild. He has 5 surviving sisters and 2 brothers, Clemmie H. Adkins, Ernest Werner Adkins, Vona David, Joyce Norris, Linda Kay Ramey and Susan Gibson.

Viewing will be held Wednesday, December 1, 2004 from 4-7 p.m. at The Candle Light Chapel located at 1800 Brundage Lane.

Graveside services will be held at Shafter Cemetery, Thursday, December 2, 2004, at 10:00 a.m.

Services will be performed by his nephew, Minister Robert Brown of Arizona.

He was an All Around Great Guy
