Mary Pattie Ablard

Mary Pattie Ablard, longtime Enid resident, active in church and community affairs, died December 3, in Alexandria, Virginia.

Mrs. Ablard was born November 26, 1893, in Beatrice, Nebraska. She grew up in Caldwell, Kansas. She graduated from the Wichita Business College and married Charles Ross Ablard in 1921. She lived in Enid from 1929 to 1980, when she moved to Alexandria, Virginia.

Mr. Ablard died in 1968. During the years in Enid she was active in the First United Methodist Church, the Bass Hospital Volunteers, Coterie Club and the Republican Party.

She is survived by a son, Charles D. Ablard, Alexandria, Virginia, and three grandchildren, Jennifer, Jonathan and Katie. Burial will be in Caldwell, Kansas. Memorial services will be held in Enid at 2 PM on Saturday, December 7, at the First United Methodist Church.
