Evelyn (Harshfield) Abel

May 24, 1929 ~ October 16, 2012

Evelyn Abel a resident of Durant, Oklahoma passed away on Tuesday, October 16, 2012 at the age of 83 years 4 months and 23 days. She was born to Mr. Harshfield and Mildred (Schaeffer) Harshfield on Friday, May 24, 1929 in Wyoming.

Evelyn loved to go fishing, playing cards, crotcheting, embroidering, working puzzles and reading. Watching sports of all kinds was her favorite pastime.

Mrs. Abel is survived by her daughters, Beverly Gail Sterns of Cartwright, Oklahoma and Gloria Kirby of Durant, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Kimberly, James, Danny, James and Evelyn; 12 great grandchildren.

Mrs. Abel was preceded in death by her sons, William Ross Blanton and Joseph Riley Blanton; husband, Thomas Irvin Blanton; sisters, Alice and Emily Patterson.
