Fred Leon Crites, 95, of Winfield, Kansas, died August 30, 2019.
 
Fred was born April 9, 1924 in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, to parents Walter Crites and Julia Gosvenor. He graduated from Wann High School and attended Coffeyville Junior College.
Fred was married to Irma Marie (Mehl) and he worked in maintenance at Sherwin Williams in Coffeyville, Kansas until retirement.
He enjoyed gardening. Fred also raised and lowered flags at "6 Flag Poles Over Wann" for special events.

He was preceded in death by his wife Irma; brothers Harry and Lloyd and sisters Doshie and Ruth.

Fred is survived by sons Leon Crites of Owasso, Joe Crites of Livingston, Kansas, John Crites of Emnmett, Kansas; 5 granddaughters; 1 grandson, 5 great granddaughters; 5 great grandsons; 2 great great granddaughters and 2 great great grandsons.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 4, 2019 from 9:00am to 8:00pm at Stumpff Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be Thursday, September 5, 2019 at 2:00pm at Wann Community Center with Pastor Jimmy Harrington of Ridin for the Brand Church officiating.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions to be made to any veteran's association of your choice.
