Martha Jewell "Judy" Reeve, 94, of Chetopa, passed away
at 6:45 a.m., Sunday, January 15, 2017 at Chetopa Manor
Nursing Home.
She was born July 13, 1922 in Leonard, Oklahoma to Fred
and Natalie Dora (Wheat) Miller. As a young girl, she
grew up and attended schools in Oglesby, Oklahoma and
attended Ramona High School in Ramona, Oklahoma.
On February 3, 1940, she and Royal Delbert Reeve were
married in Oglesby. Following marriage, they lived in
Oglesby before moving to Richmond, California. During
World War II, she worked as a welder before moving to
Arkansas in 1945, then Oklahoma, and Kansas in 1948.
After returning to Kansas, the couple lived in Walnut,
Dennis, and in 1973 moved to Chetopa.
Through the years, she worked at Broderick Manufacturing
Company in Parsons and in the mid 1950's her husband
operated antique stores in Mound Valley and later
Chetopa where she worked as the bookkeeper. She enjoyed
hosting family get-togethers, listening to music,
gardening, playing cards, working puzzles, cooking for
her family and friends, and bird watching and feeding.
For many years, she also enjoyed delivering Meals on
Wheels.

Jerry Reeve and his wife, Nema Broken Arrow, OK
Robert Reeve Broken Arrow, OK
Larry Reeve and his wife, Brenda Broken Arrow, OK
Randy Reeve Chetopa, KS
Two Daughters – Christine Reeve McCune, KS
Karen Salter and her husband, Steve Tyler, TX
Twenty-Five Grandchildren
Twenty-Six Great-Grandchildren
Six Great-Great-Grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husband, Royal Delbert
Reeve, on September 16, 1991; three children, Leroy
Reeve, Danny Reeve, and Kathy Axhelm; four brothers,
Edward, Elbert, Johnny Lee, and Teddy Ray Miller; and
one sister, Margaret Moore.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday,
January 21, 2017 at the Bath-Forbes-Hoffman Funeral Home
in Chetopa.
Burial will be in Nowata Memorial Cemetery
in Nowata, Oklahoma. The family will receive friends
from 7-8:00 p.m., Friday, at the funeral home.
