“Joe” “H.M.” Howard Marion Jarrett, 91, of Sand Springs, Oklahoma, died Monday, September 30, 2019.
Joe was born March 24, 1928 in Delaware, Oklahoma to parents Howard Martin and Francis Mae (McCauley) Jarrett.

He graduated from Nowata High School in 1945 then attended Coffeyville Community College where he graduated with his Associates degree in 1957. Joe then joined the US Air Force and was stationed at Vance Air Force Base in Enid, Oklahoma from 1950 to 1954, where he received an honorable discharge.

Joe worked as a computer programmer for Tamko Army Ammunition Plant and also did contract work from June 1957 to January 1999, at which time, he retired.
He married Judith Carole Mosher in 1961 and the couple later divorced in 1982.

Joe enjoyed Motocross racing with his son Jason, watching his grandson Jaden play sports, tinkering around the house, attending class reunions, having jam sessions with fellow musicians, playing the trumpet and touring with Johnnie Lee Wills. He also loved watching KU basketball and OU football, fishing, keeping up with friends and family on Facebook and reminiscing of times since passed.
Joe was especially proud of the fact that he gave his life to the Lord in August 2018 and was baptized in September 2019.

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Gladys Phelps and Violet Clingan; brother, Wayne Jarrett; nephews, Fredrick Jarrett and Wendall Clingan and a great nephew, Jarrett Clingan.

Joe is survived by his son Jason Jarret and wife Jessi;daughter, Shelly Vance and husband James, all of Sand Springs; son, David Walthall of Coffeyville, Kansas; grandsons, Zach Vance, Mackenzie Vance, Brennan Vance and Jaden Jarrett and three great grandchildren, all of Sand Springs, Oklahoma.

Visitation will be Sunday, October 6, 2019 from 5pm to 8pm at Stumpff-Nowata Funeral Home.

Graveside services with military honors will be held on Monday, October 7, 2019 at 10am at Nowata Memorial Park Cemetery.
