Services for William Avery were held at McGuire Cemetery in Lucien under the direction of Darnall Funeral Home.  
 
William John "Bill " Avery was born in Waukomis on 23 November 1903 and passed away suddenly Tuesday , October 11, 1955 in Enid at the age of 51 at his place of business from a heart attack.
   
Bill lived most of his life in Waukomis, Enid and Covington communities.  He moved to Enid from Covington in 1949 and established the Avery Help -Ur -Self laundry.  He was still a member of the Waukomis Methodist Church.  
 
He is survived by his wife Bertha; a daughter Karen Avery; two sons Albert Avery, USAF Sheppard Field Wichita Falls, Texas and Billy Joe, Enid;  two sisters, Mrs. Eva Weidman, San Diego and Mrs. Clara Russell, Pocasset; four brothers, Jim, Ft. Cobb, Mac and Charley both of Covington, and Sam of Peckham.
