Enid News and Eagle 11 1 2005 The funeral for Claude Dowell, 86, of Perry will be 2 p.m. Wednesday at Calvary Baptist Church. The Rev. Roger Dunn will officiate. Burial will be in Grace Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Brown-Dugger Funeral Home.

He was born Feb. 8, 1919, at Perry to Elmer Frederick and Rose Bicking Dowell and died Monday, Oct. 31, 2005, at his home.

He married Dorothy Snyder Johnson July 10, 1999, in Perry.

He was a farmer - rancher and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

Surviving are his wife, Dorothy of the home; two sons, Tom Dowell of Dallas, and Ben McBride of Crane, Mo.; two daughters, Cheryle Leach of Mulhall and Clydean Inselman of Willis; two stepdaughters, Shirley Van Hoesen and Darla Johnson, both of Perry; 37 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by two sisters, one daughter, one son, three grandsons and one granddaughter.

Memorials may be made through the funeral home to the Judith Karman Hospice or the Oklahoma Medical Research Foundation-Cancer Fund.
