Armethas Mildred Brown, 84, of Stillwater, Oklahoma, was taken home by her heavenly father on the early morning of January 10, 2014 at Stillwater Medical Center. Services have been entrusted to Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry. A funeral service will be held Friday, January 17, 2014 at 2:00 pm at First Baptist Church in Perry, Oklahoma with Reverend Andrew Gilstrap officiating. Interment will follow at the Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma. Public visitation will be held on Thursday, January 16, 2014 from 9:00am to 8:00pm with the family greeting friends from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the chapel of the Palmer Marler Funeral Home of Perry.

Mildred was born to Richard and Mammie (Sears) Ratliff on July 30, 1929 in Stroud, Oklahoma. She grew up in Sears, OK and later moved to Perry, OK. She attended school at Blaine. While attending school at Blaine, she grew to know and love the man she would later marry, Walter S. Brown. Into this union 15 children were born.
Mildred was surrounded by many family and friends that loved her very much. She enjoyed being in the presence of everyone who knew her and loved her. Along with being a homemaker, she liked to cook for her large family, and garden as a pastime. She enjoyed being close with God and in the presence of the Lord. She attended United Baptist Church, of Seward, OK, under Rev. Andrew Gilstrap. Along with her enjoyments, she loved to eat at Braums and KFC.

Mildred is survived by five sons, Gary Brown and wife, Karen of Oklahoma City, Tony Brown and wife, Coco of Nebraska, Kenneth Brown, Willie Brown and wife, Tina of Indiana, Ricky Brown of New York; four daughters, Glenda and Sandra Brown of Stillwater, OK, Gloria Brown of Oklahoma City, Carolyn Lockheart of Atlanta, Georgia; 26 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews; Lorie Brown, and numerous close friends and family.

Mildred was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Brown; parents, Richard and Mammie (Sears) Ratliff; three sons, Walter Soloman Brown Jr., Charles Ray Brown, Melvin Lewis Brown; six siblings, JT Ratliff, JD Ratliff, Mary Ratliff, Burt (Ratliff) Lancaster, Minnola Ratliff, Hurlan Ratliff, and three other children.

Mildred will be deeply missed, however NEVER forgotten, by all who knew and loved her.
