Shirley Gayle (Adams) Darling, longtime Yale resident passed peacefully from this life on December 30, 2020 at her home in Yale, OK.  Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Palmer Marler Funeral Home, Yale.
 

Shirley was born December 23, 1949 in Perry, Oklahoma to parents Wayne and Lorna (Davis) Adams.  Growing up the family would move several times across Oklahoma as her father worked in the oilfield.  Shirley graduated from Hennessey High School with the Class of 1967. Shirley was united in marriage on June 30, 1976 to the love of her life, Terry Darling in Hennessey, Oklahoma.  In 1978 she began working for Yale Public Schools as the Elementary School Secretary until her retirement in 2013.  Shirley was a talented seamstress and love to sew and cook.  She was an avid gardener and had a natural green thumb for growing both vegetables and flowers.
 

She is preceded in death by her son, Carl Darling; one brother, Leo Wayne Adams; and her parents.
 

Shirley is survived by her husband Terry of the home; daughter, Adrienne Hembree and husband Justin of Deer Creek, OK; daughter-in-law, Beverly Darling of Bixby; sisters, Vicki Baker and husband Terry of Yale, OK, and Deanna Sutterfield and husband Craig of Bartlesville, OK; grandchildren, Madison and Brendan Hembree, Bridget and Lorna Darling, and Amber DeFalco and husband Rocky; as well as many extended family members and friends.


Graveside Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, January 4, 2021 at Grace Hill Cemetery in Perry, Oklahoma; Brother Mich Dershem to officiate.

Visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at Palmer Marler Funeral Home, 800 S Linwood, Cushing, OK.
