A.J. Talamantes, resident of Oklahoma City, passed Friday, June 21, 2014 at his home.
He was 26 years of age.

A.J. was born December 10, 1987 in Oklahoma City, the son of Samuel Talamantes and Veronica Jones Talamantes. A.J. was a graduate of Northwest Classen High School and in earlier years was employed as a busboy at the Chuck House Restaurant. Before an injury at age 16 A.J. enjoyed playing basketball, being with his dad and fishing. In later years he enjoyed being with family and friends, sharing memories, video games, watching movies and seawalking dance. He also enjoyed the company of his only friend, Mark Robinette.

He is survived by his parents Samuel and Veronica Talamantes, of the home nine siblings, Samuel Talamantes II and Lorenzo Talamantes, both of Oklahoma City and twins Michael and Michelle Ewing of Ponca City, Kimberly Seeley of Valiant, Oklahoma, Traci Seeley of Oklahoma City, Vanessa Deleon of Oklahoma City, Lana Talamasey of Shawnee and Delores Talamasey of Oklahoma City aunts and uncles, Jeanette Pappan and husband Eugene, Jonathan and Vickie Jones Thomas and Farrell and Laura Jones and other extended family.

He was preceded in death by his parental grandparents, Clemente and Rosario Ramirez Talamantes and maternal grandparents William Jones and Phoebe Diamond Headman Jones Aunt Kay Jones Psina, Uncles Ricky Jones, Lorenzo Talamantes and Jose Luis Talamantes.

Prayer services will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, June 24, 2014 at the Ponca Tribal Cultural Center.

A noon meal will be served on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at the Cultural Center followed by the funeral service at 2 p.m. Presiding will be Rev. Lewis Headman, Pastor Eddie Lindsey, Pastor Richard Bond and Eugene Pappan.

Burial will follow in the Cleghorn Cemetery near Red Rock. Arrangements are under the direction of Grace Memorial Chapel.
