Lola was born November 20, 1926 at Webbers Falls, OK, the daughter of J. W. and Dellar (Day) Bennett and died Sunday, October 19, 2008 at her home.

On March 4, 1948 she married John Ford in Hulbert, OK. She was a homemaker, lifelong resident and of the Pentecostal Holiness faith. Lola was a very hard worker. Prior to being married, she worked at Camp Gruber in Braggs during the World War II era. Later she was employed at H. B Egans in Muskogee. She served as a Vista Volunteer for many years with the last two years being in a supervisor capacity.

According to Lola her most rewarding job was being the best the best wife, mother and grandmother she could be. She loved her family very much and always put others before herself. She was a fabulous cook and loved to make everyone their favorite meals. The simple pleasures in life are what gave her joy and happiness. Lola was a very strong woman. She fought being ill for many years. In those last several years her devoted husband, John Henry, became her nurse, caregiver and cook. With her family at her side she passed away in her home just as she wanted. To all whom she loved, she was an angel sent from heaven who has now returned. She will truly be loved and missed forever.

Survivors include her husband, John of the home; daughter, Judy Taylor of Fort Gibson, son, Jessie Brown of Fort Gibson; three grandchildren and nine great-grandsons.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother, Bill Bennett; five sisters, Sarah Jenkins, Ella Pearson, Fay Brogdon, Mae Jones and Thelma Bennett.
