Sharlene Denise (White) Hollis

Sharlene White Hollis was born in Muskogee, Oklahoma on August 23, 1953 to Homer Gene and Barbara Alice Clayton White. Shar's life began in a special way as she was born a twin with Carlene Genise. The family was blessed with 2 more daughters, Joy Annette and Gay Lynn.

Shar grew up in Muskogee attending Pershing Elementary, West Jr. High, and graduated from Muskogee High School with the Class 1971.

Shar married the love of her life, Robert Hollis, and On February 23, 1971, She was blessed with the greatest gift of her life, a daughter, Nicole Michelle, and her life changed forever. Nicole brought joy, happiness and fulfillment to her and was always the apple of her eye.

After High School She worked as a Paralegal in Muskogee, and continued that until she decided, at 40 years old, to go to Nursing School and graduated from Connors College in 1996 with her degree in Nursing. She worked as a Registered Nurse until her retirement.

1996 proved to be a very great year when Garrett James Ford, Shar's first grandchild, was born. She was blessed with 2 more grandchildren, Gage Robert Ford in 1999, and Gabrianne Nicole Ford in 2001. Shar was a great Nana and she loved her grands with all of her heart. Her eye twinkled every time she spoke of them, and her heart was full every time she saw them.

At a young age Shar made a profession of faith. She loved the Lord, and her faith was often what sustained her through the trials of life. Shar enjoyed teaching Sunday School and supporting children and youth by going as a sponsor to camp many times.

Shar filled the role of "Aunt Shar" to many nieces and nephews. She always seemed to know how to have fun by opening up her home with slumber parties and movie nights, and many awesome memories were made.

Shar was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Barbara White, husband, Robert Hollis, her grandparents, and an infant sister. She is survived by her daughter, Nicole Ford and husband James, Grandchildren: Garret Ford and Wife Mackenzie, Gage Ford, and Gabri Ford. Sisters: Carlene Scott, Joy Payne and husband Kelly, Gay Grandstaff and husband Gary, numerous nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews, and many other extended family members and wonderful friends.

Shar will be remembered with a Memorial Service on Saturday, August 15th at 10:00am at Timothy Baptist Church. Pallbearers are: James Ford, Garrett Ford, Gage Ford, Clint Scott, Joshua Grandstaff, and Clay Payne. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Mausoleum.
