Russell Edgar Snyder

January 29, 1918 ~ February 20, 2010

Russell Edgar Snyder was born on January 29, 1918 in Bureau County, Illinois to Edgar Russell and Mary Edna (Minier) Snyder. He passed from this life on Saturday, February 20, 2010 in Tulsa, at the age of 92.

Russell moved to Oklahoma in 1943 with his wife Joyce Allen Snyder whom he married February 12, 1938 in Illinois.

He was a member of First Baptist Church, Haskell and was a deacon for over 30 years.

Russell was an avid bass fisherman and also Enjoyed archery.

He was preceded in death by his loving wife Joyce, parents, brother, sister and four grandchildren. Russell leaves to mourn his passing four sons and daughter in laws: Russell Allen and Martha Snyder of Cambridge, Iowa, William and Wanda Snyder of Nashville, AR, Gary and LaVelle Snyder and Michael and Dixie Snyder all of Haskell; one daughter and son in law, Ann and Joe Fitzgerald of Collinsville; one sister Mamie Engelsen of Gilford, New Hampshire; 21 grandchildren and 38 great grandchildren.

Funeral services will be 10:00 AM, Tuesday, February 23, 2010 at the First Baptist Church, Haskell with Reverend John Glover and Reverend Gary McKeen officiating.

Interment will be at the Haskell Cemetery under the direction of Dowdy Funeral Home. The family will visit with friends from 5 to 7 PM, Monday, February 22, 2010 at the funeral home.
