Gladys Mae Walters was born May 20th, 1924 in Bald Hill, Oklahoma the daughter of Peter and Ida Pearl (Johnson) Rolland. She passed from this life on Sunday, December 6th, 2020 in Muskogee, Oklahoma. She was 96.
Gladys enjoyed life. She was a member of the Church of the Living God and loved the Lord with all of her heart. She enjoyed going to church and reading the Word of God. She also liked to read books of educational value or something that would give information about one of her passions. She cherished her family greatly. She loved going to family cookouts to spend time with all of her family including children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great great-grandchildren and great great-great-grandchildren. Gladys had a passion for antiques and resale. She was out on most weekends stopping at every garage sale. She had booths at antique malls and flea markets all over town. Later in life she spent most of her time with her son Mark, her full time caregiver. She enjoyed having church at home every Sunday night with Mark reading bible verses aloud to her.
Gladys is survived by her daughter, Jeanne Delores Lamberson, son, Timothy Mark Walters, two grandchildren; Larry Mitchell Lamberson and Randall "Geronimo" Lamberson, five great-grandchildren; Kaysia Lamberson, Cambry Mae Lamberson, and Dustin Joseph Lamberson, Karina Lamerson, and Jordan Ali Lamberson; and six great-great-grandchildren; McKayla, Kaden, Kyla, Khalina, Julian, two great-great-great grandchildren; Korbin and Kaiya.
She is preceded in death by her husband, George William Walters, daughter, Shirley Washington, son, Reuben Washington, granddaughter, Kelley Dawn Lamberson, six sisters; Osa Jeanette Arbor, Bertie Rolland, Gracie Fields, Myrtle Fields, Bertha Conley, and Ruth Walker, and five brothers; Dewey Rolland, Alec Rolland, Louis Rolland, David Rolland, William Lee Rolland and Baby Boy Rolland.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Thursday, December 10th, 2020 at Fife Indian United Methodist Church with Reverend David Wilson officiating. Interment will follow in the Greenhill Cemetery in Muskogee, Oklahoma under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.
Viewing will be 10:00 am - 8:00 pm Wednesday, December 9th, 2020 Lescher Millsap Funeral Home 2801 Chandler Road Muskogee, Oklahoma.
