William "Bill" Turney

January 23, 1923 ~ November 10, 2012

Funeral services for William "Bill" Turney, 89, of Muskogee will be held at 10:00 A.M. Saturday, November 10, 2012 at Eastern Heights Baptist Church with Reverend Jeff Mann officiating. Pallbearers are David Setser, Tim Nicholson, Lance Nicholson, Patrick Turney, Jarett Turney and Joey Meek. Burial in Greenhill Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home.

William "Bill" Turney was born January 23, 1923 at Bartlesville, OK, the son of Arthur and Grace (Hull) Turney.

In July 1942 he married Lucille Bowden in Muskogee, OK.

He served his country in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a carpenter contractor. He was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church and of the Masonic Lodge.

He was preceded by his parents, brother, Art and sister, Mamie. Survivors include his wife, Lucille Turney of the home; daughter, Shirley Nicholson and husband, John of Wagoner, OK; three brothers, Frank Turney of Arkansas, Henry Turney of Muskogee, OK, Lee Turney of Wagoner, OK; one grandson, William Nicholson; several nieces, nepehws, cousins and other family.

Survivors include his wife, Lucille Turney of the home; daughter, Shirley Nicholson and husband, John of Wagoner, OK; three brothers, Frank Turney of Arkansas, Henry Turney of Muskogee, OK, Lee Turney of Wagoner, OK; one grandson, William Nicholson; several nieces, nepehws, cousins and other family.

Lucille Virginia (Bowden) Turney

Funeral services for Lucille Virginia Turney, 90, of Muskogee, OK, will be held at 2:00 P.M. Friday, March 22, 2013 at Eastern Heights Baptist Church in Muskogee with Pastor Jeff Mann officiating. Burial will be in Greenhill Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Home in Muskogee.

Lucille was born October 10, 1922 in Muskogee County, OK, the daughter of E. K. and Bertha (Cobb) Bowden and died Monday, March 18, 2013 at Muskogee.

In July of 1942 she married William “Bill” Turney in Muskogee. Lucille was a member of Eastern Heights Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Nicholson and husband, John, of Wagoner, OK; grandson, William Nicholson of Wagoner; sisters, bonnie Phillips of Muskogee, Joyce Steveson of Fort Gibson, Wanda Lee Cook of Tulsa; Joe Bowden of Fort Gibson, Bobby Bowden of Duncan, Lawrence Ray Bowden of Boynton, James Bowden of Modesto, CA, E. K. Bowden of Texas; several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bill; sister, Irene; and brother, Melvin. Survivors include her daughter, Shirley Nicholson and husband, John, of Wagoner, OK; grandson, William Nicholson of Wagoner; sisters, bonnie Phillips of Muskogee, Joyce Steveson of Fort Gibson, Wanda Lee Cook of Tulsa; Joe Bowden of Fort Gibson, Bobby Bowden of Duncan, Lawrence Ray Bowden of Boynton, James Bowden of Modesto, CA, E.
