Betty Jo (Hudgins) Ketcham

July 21, 1923 ~ January 1, 2006

Betty Jo Ketcham, 82, of Muskogee, died Sunday, January 1, 2006 at Muskogee Regional Medical Center. She was born July 21, 1923 in Oklahoma City, the daughter of Ed and Lois (Jones) Hudgins. Betty Jo grew up in McGregor, Texas before moving to Oklahoma City. After World War II, she attended Oklahoma Christian University where she received a degree in education. She then moved to Muskogee where she worked for the Tuberculosis Foundation. While in Muskogee she met Lee Ketcham and the couple was married on July 20, 1950 in Okmulgee. Betty Jo was a longtime member of Grace Episcopal Church where she belonged to Daughters of the King. She was also active in PEO, the Republican Party and was a volunteer at Five Civilized Tribes Museum. She was very artistic and was a master needlepoint artist, she also enjoyed collecting Native American art and artifacts.

Preceding Betty Jo in death were her husband, Lee Ketcham and mother and father, Lois and Ed Hudgins. She is survived by three children, Gary Ketcham of Broken Arrow, Sandy and Ted Talbert of Kansas City, MO and Tom and Debra Ketcham of Muskogee; sister, Judy Hudgins of Albuquerque, NM; four grandchildren, Brian Ketcham of Muskogee, Marcy Ketcham of Sedona, Arizona, Casey Ketcham of Muskogee and Jessica Ketcham of Norman and special friend, Susan Richmond, of Broken Arrow.

Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday at Greenhill Cemetery with Father Max Berry, Jr. officiating. Friends may wish to remember Betty Jo by making memorials to Grace Episcopal Church, 218 N. 6th , Muskogee, OK 74401.

Funeral service arrangements are under the direction of Foster-Petering Funeral Home.
