Earl Delbert Heslar, Sr.
December 8, 1926 ~ September 29, 2016

Earl Delbert Heslar, Sr. was the fifth child born to Thomas and Della Heslar on December 8, 1926. He was born a few blocks away from where he resided the past 53 years. He passed away on September 29, 2016 in Muskogee.

May 14, 1960 he married Anna Jane Popejoy at Immanuel Baptist Church in Henryetta, Okla.

Earl attended Muskogee Schools, graduating from Central High in 1945. Shortly after graduation he began working at Porter-Crew Wholesale Drug. He worked as a janitor and then as an inventory manager. His employment lasted 33 years at which time the company had sold out to Wilsey Bennet in Tulsa, OK.

He then began work at Kirk's Drug as a pharmaceutical buyer, retiring in 1999.

Earl enjoyed spending time with his family, especially birthday parties and having OU football parties, and family reunions. Earl's family was his pride and joy and having family around all the time brought him so much happiness.
Earl gave his life to Jesus during revival at Timothy Baptist Church in 1962. He attended the Joy Class at Southeast Baptist Church until his health began to fail.

He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Anna of 56 years; daughters, Genella Wilkeson and husband Frank of Tulsa, and Deanna Harris and husband Bobby Jr. of Ft. Gibson; sons, Earl D. Heslar, Jr. and wife Patricia of Muskogee, and Clark Heslar of Muskogee; grandchildren, Jonathan Heslar and fiancée Kacee Caro, Isaac Heslar, Zachary Harris, and Noah Harris; one great-grandson, Zayde Heslar and one great-granddaughter, Klairah Heslar expected in January; sister, Jerry Joie of Muskogee, and many nieces, nephews and friends.

Friends may wish to remember Earl by making donations to the Youth Department at Southeast Baptist Church, 2511 E. Hancock Rd., Muskogee, OK 74403.

Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 4, 2016 at Southeast Baptist Church with Mike Scifres officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhill Cemetery, Muskogee, OK.
