Dora Lea (Black) Dupont

Dora Lea (Black) Dupont
September 4, 1931 ~ September 27, 2020

Dora Lea Dupont entered Heaven's gates on Sunday, September 27, 2020 at the age of 89. She was born September 4, 1931 in Wheeler County, Texas to Robert Bailey Black and Ona Rebecca (Reed) Black. She attended Bible School in Milford, Texas.

She married the love of her life and best friend, Henry David Dupont on May 29, 1949 in Milford, Texas. They shared many years of life, marriage, and memories together until he passed on September 11, 2014.

Dora wasn't very big but when she told you something you listened. She was very kind and loving and would never put herself first. She always made sure others were taken care of first. Every morning her breakfast consisted of coffee with a little creamer and cookies.

Dora loved her family dearly and everyone equally. She had a special way of making a house into a home. She had a passion for sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She was an excellent cook and made the best yeast rolls, homemade fried pies, and banana nut ice cream (with Dad's help), and especially her famous enchiladas.

Dora will always be remembered for her faith and her strong relationship with God. She believed in the power of prayer. She was a faithful and active member of the United Pentecostal Church in Muskogee for many years.

Mother will be greatly missed and we were all in her prayers till the very end.

We love you Mom and look forward to seeing you and Dad together again in the near future.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Henry Dupont; and parents, Robert and Ona Black.

Dora is survived by her daughter, Sharrie Dupont of Alma, AR; sons, Henry Dupont of Okay, Jerry Dupont of Ft Gibson, and Terry Dupont of Broken Arrow; brother, J. R. Black of Wheeler, TX; grandchildren, Chelsey Dupont, Alisha Whitehead, Amanda Bryant, Cody Dupont, Sabrina Dupont, Danny Dupont, Melissa Day, and Lindsey Byrd; great-grandchildren, Peyton, Brooklyn, Sadie, Kenadie, McKenna, Madline, Mayleah, Gracee, Asher, Katie, and Madison; along with other family members, church family, and friends.
