Richard Dominick Compassi

Richard Dominick Compassi
September 18, 1949 ~ May 23, 2020

Richard Dominick Compassi was born on September 18 1949 to Enrico Compassi and Ruby M Compassi in Muskogee, Ok and passed away on May 23, 2020.

Richard grew up in Muskogee and graduated in the class of 1967. He went to work after high school at the Muskogee Phoenix Paper Company as a mail room clerk. Richard worked at the Phoenix until 1970, then he enlisted in the United States Air Force.

Richard was stationed at Altus Air Force Base until 1975, he then got orders for special duty in Stuttgart, Germany until 1977.

Upon his discharge from the Air Force, Richard went back to school, completing a associate of arts degree from Bacone College.

In 1978, he then went on to complete a bachelor of science degree and then on to complete a masters of science degree from Northeastern Oklahoma State University on 1981.

Richard then went to work at Brockway Glass Company in Muskogee for a number of years.

Richard was a devout Catholic and attended mass as much as he could. At one time he was seriously considering becoming a preist.

Richard loved his family, he would spend as much time with his nieces and nephews as he could. He had a great love for baseball.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents, Enrico & Ruby Compassi, sister Lena Welch,and brother Joseph Compassi.

He is survived by his sister Rosanna Compassi Mose & brother in law John Mose and many nieces & nephews and cousins. He will be lovingly missed by his family, friends,caregivers and all who knew him.

A Rosary will be held Monday June 15th at St. Josephs Catholic Church at 7pm .

A Funeral mass will be held Tuesday June 16th at 10am at St. Josephs with Father Richard F. Cristler officating followed by a procession led by Rolling Thunder to Greenhill Cemetary in Muskogee and laid to rest by the Tinker Air Force Base Honor Guard.
