Well - Known State Judge
Dies After Long Illness

MUSKOGEE , Nov. 17 -- AP- District Judge O.H.P. Brewer, 80, a well-known Oklahoma political and judicial leader
since pre statehood days, died at a hospital here today after a long illness.

Judge Brewer had been in failing health for several years , but had continued to carry on his duties until this summer.

He underwent an operation in July which was followed by complications.

He was born in 1871 at Webbers Falls which then was a part of the Cherokee Nation. He was identified with Cherokee
Indian affairs before statehood and since has had a distinguished public career.
