Donald Lee Stacy, 85-year-old longtime Mayes County resident, passed away on Friday, March 13 , 2026, at the Emerald Care Nursing Center in Claremore, OK. He was born on September 10, 1940, in Pawhuska to Lee and Dora (Cole) Stacy. Don grew up in Pawhuska and Pryor, graduating from Pryor High School in 1959. Immediately after graduation, Don enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corp and served his county for the next six years until he was honorably discharged in 1963. On December 22, 1969, he married the love of his life, Mary Rose Shafer Stacy. Don worked at National Gypsum in Pryor, OK for 40 years. He enjoyed calf roping, fishing, rabbit and coon hunting, watching baseball and OU football, and all activities involving his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was an active member of the Lighthouse Assembly of God in Locust Grove, OK.
Don is survived by his wife, Mary, his brother Ronnie Stacy and wife Sharon, his sons, Chris Clayton and wife Ethel of Byers, Kevin Stacy of Pryor, his daughters Dianne Blackman of Inola, Stephanie Wall and husband Carl of Claremore, Melanie Cummings of Pryor, Kimberly Hix and husband James of Tulsa, nine grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, one great- great grandchild, and several nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Dora Stacy, brothers, Kenneth Ray Watkins and Bob Stacy, sisters, Lucille Miller, Wanda Hendricks, and Margaret Wall.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 19, 2026, at the Lighthouse Assembly of God located at 303 S Wyandotte St. Locust Grove, OK 74352 with Dale Lemmons officiating. Interment will follow in the Fort Gibson National Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Shipman's Funeral Home in Pryor.
