Deana Kay (Jarrard) Heard
June 15, 1956 ~ October 20, 2016

Deana Kay Heard passed away on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at her home in Okmulgee. She was 60 years of age.

Deana was born June 15, 1956 in Muskogee to Lowell Dean "Jerry" Jarrard and Katherine (Ward) Jarrard. She married DeWayne Heard on March 10, 1995 in Morris.

Deana had worked for the Oklahoma Department of Corrections and the Okmulgee County Sherriff's Department. She later worked at the Muscogee (Creek) Nation Council House for over ten years. Deana was an active member of Okmulgee Main Street and its activities, the Council House Association and attended Jubilee Christian Church.

She was preceded in death by her father, a brother, David Jarrard, grandparents, Bill and Margaret Ward and H.C. and Josie Jarrard and a brother-in-law, Jimmy Dale Heard.

Survivors include her husband, DeWayne Heard of the home, mother, Katherine Jarrard of Muskogee, daughters, Amanda Hamilton of Morris and Jennifer Kay DeShazer of Muskogee, grandchildren, Carley Tharps, Shelby DeShazer, Michaela DeShazer, Madison DeShazer, and Caleb DeShazer, great grandchildren. Audrey Kay DeShazer, A.J. DeShazer, Mikenleigh DeShazer and Kadrian DeShazer and a brother, Steve Jarrard.

A funeral service will be held 2:00 P.M. Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the First Assembly of God Church with Reverend Haskell Baldridge officiating. A committal service will be held 11:00 A.M., Monday, October 24, 2016 at the Ft. Gibson National Cemetery. Arrangements have been entrusted to the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home of Okmulgee,
