May 25, 1949 ~ 2016

Pastor Reverend Rickey Harris Sr., was born May 25, 1949 to Reverend Billy and Wauhillau Harris in Muskogee, OK.

Rick attended Fort Gibson Schools where he graduated in 1967. He married Betty McGlothlin on July 24, 1970. Rick served in the U. S. Army from 1969 to 1972. After returning home from the service, he worked for Bill White Chevrolet until he took over his father's mechanic shop where he made many friends. In February 1985 Rick became Pastor of the Old Mission Church in Fort Gibson. He became a volunteer at W. W. Hasting in 2007 where he continued working until his death. Rick loved helping others, his famous quote was "if I can just help one more lost soul."

He is survived by his wife, Betty Harris and son, James Harris of the home; son and daughter-in-law, Rickey Jr. and Tobey Harris of Thomasville, NC; daughter and son-in-law, Elizabeth and Robert Jones of Muskogee; three daughters he adopted, Jessica Biggers of Fort Gibson, Stacy Jordan of Muskogee, and Dana Mickleson of Tulsa; grandchildren, Haylie Taylor, Trenton Elkins, and Landon Elkins of Muskogee, Ryann and Reagan Harris of Thomasville, NC; five step-grandchildren; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Bob and Thelma Harris, Jerry and Nancy Harris; three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Billie and Hoyt Disney, Sammie and Les Locust, Joy Parker all of Fort Gibson; two brothers-in-law and one sister-in-law, Kenneth and Lisa McGlothlin of Muskogee, Jerrel McGlothlin of Sallisaw; many nieces, nephews, and numerous friends.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents, Isom and Nora Parker and Susan Adkisson; parents, Billy and Wauhillau Harris; mother and father-in-law, Wade and Christine McGlothlin; two infant brothers, Carson Leroy and Teddy Jean; one infant grandbaby, Carson; two brothers-in-law, Joe Parker and Jim Parker; one adopted daughter, LaTicia Clopton; many friends; other family members that he is now rejoicing with in Heaven.

Rick will be missed by many. From the bottom of our hearts, the family wants to thank you for all the prayers, food, flowers, and donations. A special thanks to Marion and Debbie Parsons.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 A.M. on Wednesday, March 16, 2016 at the Old Mission Church with Rickey Harris Jr. and James Harris officiating. Pallbearers at the church will be Trenton Elkins, Landon Elkins, Joe Parker, Robert Jones, Eric Stang, and Greg Harris. Pallbearers at the cemetery will be Jimmy Parker, Jeremy Parker, Bobby Harris, Micheal McGlothlin, Rex Guinn, and Charlie Disney. Burial will be at Fort Gibson National Cemetery under the direction of Lescher-Millsap Funeral Service of Fort Gibson.
