Clora "Georgelene" (Hanks) Grober

Clora "Georgelene" (Hanks) Grober
September 26, 1928 ~ March 22, 2023

Clora "Georgelene" Grober passed away on Wednesday, March 22, 2023, at the age of 94, in Muskogee, Oklahoma. Georgelene was born September 26, 1928 in Detroit, Michigan and was the only child of George and Clora Hanks. She moved to Muskogee, Oklahoma at the age of nine where she attended Muskogee Public Schools and graduated from Central High School.

Georgelene was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Brady Grober Jr. They married in July of 1947 and celebrated 60 years together.

She is survived by her three children, George Walter Grober (Sparky) and his wife Susan of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Michael Kevin Grober of Muskogee, her faithful caretaker at the request of his father after his passing, and Melanie Gaye Grober of Dallas, Texas; grandson, Brian Grober and his wife Stephania; great-grandson, Brooks Gray Grober of Tulsa, Oklahoma; grandchildren, Jason Henry, Brent Henry and Brandy Henry of Muskogee, Oklahoma; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Georgelene never missed an athletic event for any of her children and attended many athletic events of her grandson Brian as well. The umpires and referees certainly knew her voice! She also loved being on the lake fishing, playing cards, playing bingo, watching old western tv shows and was always reading a good book.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorials be made to a favorite cancer charity.

A memorial service for Georgelene will be at 12:30PM, Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Cranton officiating.

Funeral services are under the direction of Cornerstone Funeral Home, 1830 N York St, Muskogee, OK 74403. Condolences can be made to the family at www.cornerstoneofmuskogee.com.
