Donald Robert "Don" Eckholm
February 6, 1947 ~ January 14, 2023

Donald Robert Eckholm, 75, of Enid, Oklahoma, passed away at Canoe Brook in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma, after a short battle with cancer, on January 14, 2023.

Don was born on February 6, 1947, in Menasha, Wisconsin, to Clarence and Lorraine Eckholm.

Shortly after graduating high school in Menasha, he joined the United States Air Force and served for ten years, including two tours of duty in Vietnam. He reached the rank of Staff Sergeant with the Military Air Command Aerospace Rescue and Recovery Service. He repaired helicopters and flew on missions to recover injured and fallen comrades.

Don married Sandra Storms in 1972, and they had one daughter Sonja. After leaving the military, he worked for Storms TV and Appliance until opening his own business, Don's Service Company. He married Cindy Semrad in 2000, and they divorced in 2002. Don was well known in Enid for repairing appliances for many folks over 27 years, before his retirement in 2019. He was a member of the Enid Moose Lodge.

Don will be remembered for being a husband, dad, grandpa, brother, friend, and the local appliance repairman.

Don was preceded in death by his father, Clarence; mom, Lorraine; brothers, Bruce and Ernie.

He is survived by his daughter Sonja and son-in-law Jon Matthews; granddaughters, Meghan and Caitlyn; step-daughter, Cassy and husband Jesse Lybolt and their children, Jesse Jr., Kadin, Noah, and Laynie; step-daughter, Cally Winburn and her daughter Taelynn; former spouses, Sandy Semrad and Cindy Semrad; siblings, Doug and wife Kathy, David and wife Lynn, Jane and husband Dennis, Buck and wife Alison, Mary and husband Dale, and Patty Eckholm.

Donald's final resting place will be at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

Arrangements are entrusted to Schaudt's Funeral Service, 5757 S. Memorial Drive, Tulsa, OK 74145. Family and friends may leave their condolences and tributes at schaudtfuneralservice.com.
