Funeral services for Charles A. “Chuck” Day, of Skiatook, were held Monday, January 23, 2012 at First Presbyterian Church in Skiatook, OK. Reverend Lynda Ward officiated and burial was in Ft. Gibson National Cemetery in Ft. Gibson, OK.

Chuck was born December 27, 1927 in Randlette, OK to John William and Etta (Clay) Day. He passed away January 20, 2012 in Claremore, OK at the age of 84.Chuck was retired from the U.S Postal Service. He loved to play his guitar, the fiddle, mandolin and piano. Chuck enjoyed playing cards, going fishing, camping, and golfing.

He is survived by his wife, Ida Mae Day; son, Craig A. Day and wife Margie of Skiatook; son-in-law, Curtis Staggs of Forney, TX; sister, Patsy Kirk of Tuttle, OK; brother, Ross Day of Bellaire, TX; grandchildren, Chase Day, Amanda Hjortshoej and husband Henrick, Eric Staggs and wife Crystal, Paige Brown and husband Michael, Dustin Day and wife Breann, Brandi Phillip and husband Scott, Brandon Houston and wife Casey, and Brittney Houston; 15 great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Ranada (Day) Staggs; great-grandsons, Pierce Alexander Phillips, and Aden Charles Brown; sisters, Ida Bell Nolan, Clara Beck, and Edith Ferguson; and brothers, J.W. Day, and Bruce Day.

Arrangements and services were entrusted to Johnson Funeral Home, Sperry.
