Franklin Bob Crittenden

June 13, 1917 ~ December 24, 2004

Franklin Bob Crittenden passed away Friday, December 24, 2004 in Tahlequah at 87 years of age. He was born June 13, 1917 in Lost City to Joe and Lena Mae (Cochran) Crittenden. Bob graduated from Chilocco Indian School and attended Murray Junior College, NSU, and OSU. He also served his country in the United States Army and was a POW. He was an independent contractor in the electrical industry. Bob married Mildred "Midge" E. Stone September 25, 1993. Since 1993, he had been a resident of Wagoner. He was also a member of Swimmer Baptist Church.

Bob is survived by his wife, Mildred Crittenden of the home; a sister, Luella Hanes, of Phoenix; a brother, Hoover Crittenden, of Tahlequah, two stepdaughters, Rebecca Hutto and her husband, David, of Tulsa and Anita Mills of Dallas; a sister-in-law, Lora Crittenden, of Hulbert; six grandchildren; a great granddaughter; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended relatives and friends.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers: Thomas, Sampson, Mack, Bert and Andy Crittenden; and a sister, Martha Carey.

A wake will be held from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM Wednesday, December 29, 2004 at Reed-Culver Chapel. Services will be 12:30 PM Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Reed-Culver Chapel with Rev. Sampson Keener officiating. Interment will be 2:00 PM Thursday, December 30, 2004 at Fort Gibson National Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Steve Crittenden, Tommy Crittenden, Tommy Crittenden, Jr., Joe Michael Carey, Patrick Smith and Bob Bacon. Honorary Pallbearers include Andy Bird, Henry Morgan, Hastings Shade, Leonard Shade and Dewey Keener. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Swimmer Baptist Church.
