Alvin Trammell, 76 of Mead, Oklahoma passed away Friday, December 6, 2013 at his home in Mead.

He was born on November 27, 1937 in Hickory, Oklahoma to the late Luther Trammell and Myrtle Keeton Trammell. Alvin was raised in Sulphur, Oklahoma where he graduated from Sulphur High School in 1957. He attended Oklahoma State University for one year before going to work at Greens Department Store in Sulphur. Alvin married Judith Carol Green in September 1957 in Gainesville, Texas. In 1967 he moved to Madill where he owned and operated Trammell's Department Store until 1988. Alvin worked as a rancher for the rest of his life. He was member of the Streetman Road Baptist Church and he enjoyed hunting, working, art, poetry, ranching and being with his children and grandchildren.

He is survived by: Children: Joel Trammell and wife Tresa, Madill, Oklahoma; Kari Dawn Johnson and husband Randy, Sulphur, Oklahoma; Travis Trammell and wife Kelly, Madill, Oklahoma;4 Grandchildren: Shannon & Shani Trammell, Chisolm Cassai Trammell and Shiloh Butts;Brother: Dennis Trammell, Tecumseh, Oklahoma; Sisters: Francis Williams, Spokane, Washington; Lavon Wells, Midwest City, Oklahoma

Alvin was preceded in death by his parents, 2 Brothers and 4 sisters. Casket Bearers: Joel Trammell, Randy Johnson, Travis Trammell, Shiloh Butts, Jacky Butts, Ray Espenshade. Honorary Bearers: Don Blagg, Shannon Trammell, Chislom Trammell, Snuffy Lemming, Jimmy Rogers, Bob Hill.

Visitation will be Tuesday, December 10, 2013 from 10 am to 9 pm and a family hour from 6 pm to 8 pm at Watts Funeral Home , Madill.

Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 11, 2013, at 10 am at the Watts Memorial Chapel, Madill, Oklahoma. Darren Wallace will officiate the services.

Interment will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery, Sulphur, Oklahoma. Services will be under the direction of Watts Funeral Home , Madill, Oklahoma.
