Charles Roland Fryar, of Pauls Valley, was born September 2, 1933 in Oden, Arkansas to Grover and Anna (Ellison) Fryar.

He passed away October 11, 2020 in Norman, Oklahoma at the age of 87 years.

Charles graduated from Sulphur High School in 1951. He then attended East Central University where he met the love of his life, Mary Nancy Hays. They married August 7, 1954 and have been happily married for 66 years. Charles graduated from ECU in 1955 with a Business Administration degree. He then went back to get a teaching degree and taught school for 9 years in Wynnewood. He then moved to Pauls Valley and was Teacher and Principal for more than 30 years, retiring in 1992. He enjoyed teaching his many students. He loved everyone and they loved him also. He was a member of the Church of Christ where he taught Bible Classes and later became an Elder.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother, Donald Fryar, and a grandson Shayne Fryar.
 

He is survived by his wife, Nancy, sons, David Fryar, Jerry Fryar, and Mark Fryar and his wife, Marcia, daughter, Ruth Ann Dennis and her husband, Tim, 5 grandchildren, Steffany Ward and husband, Alan, Angela Foster and husband, Phillip, Heather Beasley and husband, Matt, and Kenny and Kyle Dennis, whom he thoroughly enjoyed attending school events and watching them grow up, he is also survived by13 great-grandchildren.


Donation can be made to the Tipton Home or to the Pauls Valley Church of Christ in his honor.

Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 17, 2020 at 11:00 am at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur officiated by John Curtis. Interment will be at the Oaklawn Cemetery in Sulphur under the direction of Stufflebean-Coffey Funeral Home.
